Growth Companies

Born in the heady days of Y2K, Ann Arbor-based GDI Infotech has reinvented itself, changing its focus to business consulting. In particular, the firm specializes in busting the information silos within large corporations – integrating applications and databases that previously didn't talk to each other.

It's a strategy that seems to be working just fine. GDI routinely posts 15-20 percent revenue growth in each of the last five years. They've expanded their staff to 130 people, 40 of which are here in southeast Michigan.

Better yet, they intend to add another 12-14 people right away and up to 30 people within the next year. GDI also hopes to add 100 or so people within the next 2-5 years through organic growth and acquisitions. Those jobs would include mostly high-paying positions like analysts or project managers.

The Michigan Economic Growth Corporation recently awarded GDI a $1.5 million grant to open its new Solutions Division in Ann Arbor instead of North Carolina. That tax credit is supposed to create 121 jobs at GDI Infotech within the next seven years.
