From the ashes of the Winter Shadow Art Fair at Ypsilanti's Corner Brewery (the last edition was in 2009) have risen a quartet of great local art events.
The first is the beastly offspring of the holiday Shadow Art Fair, Ypsilanti's annual Krampus Ball. A self described free-deviant holiday costume ball/parade, this anti-claus celebration is inspired by the demonic alpine creature that punishes bad children at Christmas. This year's event is scheduled for Dec. 15.
On the artsy side, two fairs have stepped in to pick up the hip, local artisan slack. In Ypsilanti there's

Tiny Expo. Both were launched in 2010 and have found an enthusiastic audience. This year you can add to the mix the
Ann Arbor Indie Fair (December 2nd at The Wolverine State Brewing Company), which was started up to provide an additional outlet for the burgeoning Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti indie art scene.
What better time than to celebrate some of the great artists of the area in a slideshow with one of the best local releases of the year serving as a soundtrack? Set to Lightning Love's track "So Easy" from their Quite Scientific release Blonde Album check out the following artists and their work.
