Concentrate Speaker Series Event: Urban Strategist Christopher Leinberger

The Concentrate Speaker Series is very proud to welcome national land-use strategist, developer and Brookings Institution fellow, Christopher Leinberger.

Chris will be talking about the role of density and planning in creating more walkable communities, and how Ann Arbor's policies and strategies square with current innovations and ideas.

Voted one of the "Top 100 Urban Thinkers" by Planetizen, Leinberger is the founding director of the Graduate Real Estate Development Program at the University of Michigan, the 2010 recipient of the William H. Whyte Award from Partners for Livable Communities, and serves as the president of LOCUS: Responsible Real Estate Developers and Investors.

In his 2008 book The Option of Urbanism, Leinberger investigates the government policies that contributed to suburban sprawl and describes a new American Dream where people can live, work and play within easy walking distance. He calls on the financial and real estate communities to build communities that are more environmentally, socially and financially sustainable.

The event will be held on Thursday, October 6th at The Ann Arbor Comedy Showcase from 5-7pm, below the restaurant Seva. (314 East Liberty Street in downtown Ann Arbor)

The program is free and open to the public. Please register online below.
