Super computing is one of those terms, like artificial intelligence, that many people have heard of but few really understand - at least in terms of contemporary applications. The team at
TotalCAE gets it.
The
Tech Brewery-based company, formerly known as
HiperLogic, specializes in high-performance computing and virtualization/cloud technology. It consults with larger engineering firms to increase productivity, reduce costs and improve flexibility.
"We help engineers get the engineering done faster," says Rod Mach, owner of TotalCAE. "We're the IT department for engineering."
The 7-year-old business has double its revenue in the last two years. That has allowed it to hire two people over the last 12 months, including a software programmer and IT specialist. It has also brought on interns to its team, of four people. The company expects to hire another person or two as it continues to push a lot of its super-computing expertise into the cloud computing realm.
"We have been migrating all of our tools and portals to the cloud," Mach says. "We're trying to stay ahead of the curve."
