I have been developing  applications I'm working on, and I could use more help. Invest and funding to establish company's, and create opportunity.

1st Company: SleepMedx: sleep medical applications, and kiosks. Persona network of each patient. New patient interaction and automation. Personally I cannot share details here however I'm open to programmers/developers willing to be apart of something amazing, and profit will follow.

2nd: Company: InnoaVox is what I call data sensory transmissions. Since we are on brink of computational change, and we know autonomous vehicles are established. Connectivity of all devices is only begun. I'm connecting medical devices inner and outer networks. However innoaVox is vehicle interface UX Design, custom driver interactions. Creating new approaches of connected experiences and applications for intelligent transportation systems. I spoke of connectivity of devices (Internet or things) well options are endless, and confusion populates automotive market. Ford sync with driver distraction and proxy. Connecting mobile phone / application to run proxy prior to establishing connection to vehicle interface / proxy regulates / constrains development. Blocking can-bus sensors intentionally. Other automotive suppliers have different approaches, and all are unique and very similar. This market is still unknown and regulated federally. This market is also untapped, leaving options for "how can you connected and implement application / experience into vehicle."

This is where I come in! This is where I'm building applications and helping others link into or develop concepts for them and their applications. I'm looking for other programmer and developers around Michigan to design, develop and deploy applications into mobile and connectivity of vehicle.

Again options are endless. Right in Ann Arbor we have www.www.meetup.com/connectedcar.
Attendees gathered are amongst Ford, General  Motors, Chrysler, intel, IBM, automotive researchers and many more. This is Detroit motor city capital of the world and we need to adopt new approaches, build teams, and start making opportunities happen, develop applications for tailored experiences, and unlock potential. Collaboration is vital and will benefit in massive amounts.

I am part of the Denison Consulting Research & Development team, and my core responsibilities include updating, and creating custom, benchmarks for our organizational culture and leadership assessments. I am also the academic correspondent, providing support for students and researchers who wish to use the Denison model and survey items for their research. I landed this job through a connection. My friend notified me that Denison was hiring, and I jumped at the opportunity. My original plan was to travel across the States, earn some cash in Ann Arbor, then continue my travels. However, the career opportunity and the location was too good to pass up. The strong community feel that both my workplace and the town offered made my decision to stay an easy one.

I happen to be one of those lucky few that gets to say " My job is awesome, be jealous". Every day that I enter our office filled with gorgeous leather bound photographic albums and dogs of every size (every employee has the option to bring their furry friend to work ), there is a new adventure to begin and a new project to tackle.

We work exclusivley with professional photographers  specializing in Wedding, Boudoir, Children, Family, and other quirky imagery. I travel all over the country to meet new clients and promote our products, it gives me the opportunity to enjoy many personalities! Although few of my travels bring me to a better city than home!  Ann Arbor is an absolutely thriving town, I could not imagine living anywhere else!

Emily Keller-Logan

I'm relatively new to the Ann Arbor area because my husband recently started the MBA program at the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business. When I got into town I started meeting up with a lot of great people in Michigan's entrepreneurial space and that's how I was introduced to Seelio.

Previously I worked in Washington, DC, at the Pew Charitable Trusts, a policy research and advocacy organization so I was excited to use my time in Ann Arbor to explore something new.

Seelio is an online portfolio platform for students to use to track their college experience and highlight the great projects and skills they build throughout their studies. Being that it's a startup, I wear a lot of different hats but I mainly focus on building partnerships with educational institutions and companies so that students have a variety of opportunities available to them as they create their portfolios. I play a consultative role with companies as they create accounts to recruit directly off the platform or with educational institutions as they create a private network for one their classes or programs. Some days I am creating new marketing materials, other days I am working with our designers to construct new features for the platform, and every day I am learning something new!

Getting a chance to work in a startup is certainly refreshing and it's exciting to see how a product is developed, launched, and adopted by students, companies and educators.

I have had a long history working with food, restaurants, craft beer, wine, and any other wonderful refreshments that go into a great event. As the former Marketing Director for a restaurant company out of Kalamazoo, switching gears to a catering company in Ann Arbor was a nice fit.

Something I love doing since I began my work at Katherine’s Catering, is a monthly contest I developed that awards our guests for getting creative (2 dozen fresh baked cookies for a great haiku, coffee service with breakfast pastries for sending a photo proving why you need coffee, etc), and the feedback has been fantastic and creative. Marketing to me is much more than promoting a product, it’s about creating an open dialogue between businesses and their guests/fans. I’m lucky I get to work in a field that allows me to think outside the box everyday, run with my wacky ideas, and get creative through photography and graphic design. And the free food isn’t bad either…

I work closely with a dedicated group of professionals to provide top-quality data analysis and visualization for top-tier companies and governmental organizations. Our management team has twenty-plus years of experience at some of the most respected corporations, advertising agencies, marketing research firms and information technology companies. I enjoy the intellectually challenging and fast-paced nature of the work, as well as the brilliance and dedication of my colleagues. I discovered the position through a close associate in my independent design firm, Watermelon Design, who had held the position previously.

I have more than 20 years fundraising and non-profit experience as a social worker, community volunteer and development professional. I'm excited to join the Ann Arbor fundraising firm of Richner & Richner as a consulting analyst. I got interested in fundraising after volunteering on several non-profit boards of directors, including the Lamaze Family Center, Community Day Care and Preschool, the Burns Park PTO and the Ann Arbor Public Schools Educational Foundation. When you feel passionately about the mission of an organization and the work they do, you can’t help but be drawn into supporting them financially and then wanting to offer that opportunity to others. Before joining Richner & Richner, I was the director of development for Interfaith Hospitality Network at Alpha House (IHN @ Alpha House), a local shelter for parents and children experiencing homelessness.

I ended up working in the international education by accident. While pursing my MSW at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, I worked in the International Center. I enjoyed meeting and working with international students, getting to know the student and their home culture as well as sharing about American life. I ended up moving to Indiana in order to begin my career in the international education field working at a small, private university. At my former job, I traveled recruiting students, processed the international student admission applications, advised on immigration related matters, provided orientation for the international students and cultural, social and educational programming. I also co-advised a multicultural student organization. After finding my interest in the field, I decided to focus on immigration advising and programming which led me to Eastern Michigan University. I am thrilled to be back in Southeast Michigan! Job searching in a specific field can be challenging without networking. I attended conferences and made opportunities to network with professionals in the field which aided in my job search.

Charles Smith

I like my job because it puts me directly where the rubber meets the road. I'm right in the middle of where the engines that go in a lot of Chrysler vehicles are made. My job entails ensuring that every day the plant is meeting or exceeding our production, while maintaining a strong budget. I'm still learning a lot about the whole manufacturing process and manufacturing process right now because I just started working three weeks ago, but I'm really enjoying it. I chose the Chrysler opportunity over a few others because it gave me the strongest foundation to learn, and grow with an international company that is reinventing itself. I wanted to be a part of that transformation, and perhaps lead it one day.

I chose the Ann Arbor area because it would be full of young professionals and people my age. I'm originally from Florida, and I keep moving farther north for school and now work, so I don't really know many people. I really like the college town feel, and I'm slowly getting to know downtown Ann Arbor - and I love it so far.

I am responsible for managing three accounts, analyzing the media coverage through statistical tools, and advising clients on how to better manage their reputation in both traditional and online media.

I found this job on the company’s website while I was still a student in Oklahoma. This is the exact type of job I was looking for, since it gives me the opportunity to practice my research skills while learning more about consultancy.

I handle social media and communications, including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, our blog, press releases, and creating promotional videos. The video production aspect of my job is definitely my favorite thing to do because I'm able to be as creative as I'd like. On any given day, I might be editing footage of a lion consuming a zebra or a Tibetan monk walking along a mountain path. I love that my job forces me to be aware of the greater world and all the spectacular things that are in it. I left a good-paying, highly-secure job in the biotech industry to begin a career in Real Estate. Why? Because I loved the idea of running my own business and helping people make their home ownership dreams come to fruition. As the daughter of entrepreneurs, this has been a dream of mine for years and with the Ann Arbor housing market beginning to rebound, it seemed like the perfect time.

With my years of contract negotiation experience and personable demeanor, I feel as though I was meant to be a Realtor®. If you or someone you know is looking for a Realtor that you can not only rely on but also have an enjoyable experience with, I would love to hear from you.

Plante Moran is a professional services organization that specializes in accounting, tax and consulting services.  P&M has over 2,000 professionals located mostly in Michigan, Ohio and Illinois, but also have offices in Shanghai, China; Monterrey, Mexico; and Mumbai, India. Plante Moran has been voted as one of Fortune Magazine’s “100 Best Companies to Work For” for 14 consecutive years.

I am based out of the Ann Arbor office and work on the audit side of the Real Estate, Private Equity and Municipal industries.  I was able to find this position through campus recruiting activities. Since I was in college pursuing an Accounting degree, I heard nothing but great things about Plante Moran and am pleased that these things were not untrue when I began working.  Ann Arbor was a perfect fit for me as it is close to both where I grew up and where I went to college.  I knew I wanted to stay in Michigan so, again, the location was a big draw for me.

I work as a Senior Managing Editor with Hayden-McNeil Publishing in Plymouth, MI. We publish custom course materials for the higher education market. My job gives me the opportunity to work with many interesting academics in various disciplines from across the country as I serve as their point person throughout the publication process. A recent challenge facing all publishers has been the transition to digital content delivery. While many of my projects are still hard copy texts, several have converted to fully interactive e-books or have added digital components such as animations, assessment tools, videos, etc. within the last year or so. Having been immersed in the print world for so long, I have enjoyed learning the intricacies of digital publishing, and would bet many more of my projects will go paperless within a few years. While it hasn't been the easiest road to navigate, digital publishing is the future, and I look forward to seeing how it unfolds.
