I am responsible for financial accounting and internal financial reporting at Ann Arbor SPARK.  I also manage the accounts receivable and payable, billings, grant agreements, and payroll.  Ann Arbor SPARK, a non-profit organization, is the driving force in establishing the Ann Arbor region as a destination for business expansion, retention, and location by identifying and meeting the needs of business at every stage, from startups to large organizations.  My job gives me the opportunity to work closely with amazing people and focus on all the reasons why Michigan (and the Ann Arbor region specifically) is a great place to be!

I am part of a 4-person marketing team responsible for promoting up to 75 performances per season including dance, theater, jazz, world music, orchestras, chamber ensembles, and recitalists. My main job responsibilities include designing and creating all HTML e-mails (approximately 250 annually) sent to various UMS audience constituencies, as well as reviewing, editing, and updating all content on the dynamic pages of the UMS website. I also oversee and manage all UMS student programs, including the UMS Student Committee and Arts & Eats. It is incredibly exciting and rewarding to work for an organization with such a long and distinguished history of bringing the best in performing arts from around the world to Ann Arbor!

As a business development manager, my job is to build, foster, and maintain relationships with people and their companies. The companies I work with most of the time are on the post revenue side of the business continuum. I meet with companies on a regular basis in effort to provide and connect them with the resources they need to succeed.

I am the Founder and Inspiration Director of a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization called Live to Give Foundation (L2G) where we are focused on rebuilding Michigan in a personal way. Michigan faces one of the most difficult times in its history, but L2G is dedicated to partnering with local nonprofits and companies to raise funds for and spotlight their efforts. Our  #1 goal is to connect donors to recipients by showing the path of each donation from an initial fundraiser to the final recipient it actually benefits. We have a growing team of 10, but the amazing part is that we are all in our 20's just trying to make a difference in our communities. We pride ourselves on social media, cutting edge promotions though mini-movies, embracing a young culture, and making sure that 100% of every donation directly benefits the recipient.

As the Development Director my job is to increase volunteerism utilizing social media outlets, and create and continue substanitial donations to sustain the Salvation Army of Washtenaw County.

As Executive Director of InGlobal I have a variety of responsibilities.  First and foremost, InGlobal is a start-up, so organizational development is a meaningful opportunity to network with education innovators, faculty at the University of Michigan and other institutions, and teachers around the world as we create a new vision for education – a vision that engages all types of learners, does so in new and exciting ways, and addresses critical social issues.  My tasks vary day to day: I might participate in conference calls supporting teachers from Greece, Mexico, or New Orleans; I may work to develop curricula for high school students learning about global citizenship; or I will assist in developing interactive technologies that promote the United Nations’ Millennium Development Goals.  InGlobal prototypes and implements new forms of pedagogy and technology, connecting learners with new knowledge and issues of global significance.  Working collaboratively with international partners across a variety of sectors, InGlobal designs innovative learning experiences to transform education.

As the President and Chief Executive Officer of this new start-up foundation, it is my job to run the current day-to-day operations. This means that I am responsible for every aspect from the marketing, to accounting, to the events and planning. The diversity that I experience on a daily basis is unlike any other job I could have accepted. This “learn as I go” experience always keeps this job exciting to me and will surely help me in my other ventures.

SPARK East offers both physical office space, as well as essential business services to support the local talent needs.  SPARK East also offers the unique SPARK East Entrepreneur Resource Board (SEERB), and expert team in a range of critical start-up services, including banking, finance, marketing, sales, human resources and logistics.

At SPARK East I manage the redevelopment and day to day operations of SPARK East.  I also work on the site selection committee to choose the current location.  Day to day responsibilities include: Building management, Tenant recruitment, Administrative duties, and Community outreach.  Pfizer donated $5 Million worth of life science equipment to Ann Arbor SPARK.  At The Michigan Innovation Equipment Depot, I work to distribute this equipment to over 100 start up companies throughout the state.

I am responsible for the administration and operation of all agency activities, including long-term planning and vision, budget development and management; program planning and evaluation; and fundraising.  I work closely with talented and hard-working staff, board of directors, and over 100 volunteers to fulfill the mission of emotional and economic self-determination for women, girls, and families.

I act as the business advocate by voicing to appropriate parties business constituency's positions regarding public policy matters.  I also serve as a liaison between business constituency and local, state, and federal government officials.  I establish and maintain positive working relationships with government officials at all levels, as well as various other area community leaders.  Finally, I stay abreast of public policy matters potentially impacting business constituency, and engage constituency to solicit input and feedback.

As the Marketing Coordinator, I am responsible for website updates and maintenance, including overseeing the completion of the website reskin project; website and email statistical reporting and compilation; social Media Maintenance – Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, MySpace, Plaxo etc; eNewsletter & eBlast creation; weekly B2B editorial compilation and content management. event photographer; press release write up; and to represent the Chamber at events.  My Membership duties include keeping complete records of prospective members; attending various events to network with prospective members; visiting area business to discuss membership with the Chamber; and using Social Media to connect with prospects.

As a research analyst, I am responsible for statistical analysis of U.S. transplant and international dialysis practice databases in support of epidemiologic and health policy research.

As a self-employed fundraising and communications consultant, I provide fundraising and communications services-- including grant writing, event planning and donor stewardship-- for nonprofits in the area.

I oversee the development, extension, management, and maintenance of Girl Scout membership (adult and girl) within a district.  This includes recruiting, appointing volunteers, providing support and supervision of volunteers and ensuring volunteers receive the appropriate trainings and materials.

I manage all things development (individual gifts, grants) and community relations (educational programming, community partnerships, volunteer program) for the Ann Arbor Summer Festival.
