TheCaringSpace.com is an online resource for connecting families of the elderly and disabled with independent caregivers in their area. We are currently seeking to expand the resources available to people who utilize our website, careseekers and caregivers.  My position includes content development and organization, management of content development assistants (4 university students and a member of Fresh Start Clubhouse), as well as search engine optimization for a resource library of issues relevant to our users.

I work in an environment where no two days are the same.  As a social worker in the mental health field, I provide therapy, coordination of care, and case management services to adults with severe and persistent mental illness who live in Washtenaw County.  This means that I spend part of my time providing supportive services to ensure that their basic needs (shelter, housing, food, clothing, medications, etc.) are being met either through our agency's services or through other community resources, and part of my time providing individual and group therapy services. My position is in an outpatient clinic, working alongside psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, and other administrative professionals.  I also have the opportunity to collaborate with various health systems and other social service agencies in the community, like Fresh Start Clubhouse, Catholic Social Services, Avalon Housing, etc.  Although there is no "typical day" at my office, I love empowering the people I work with to accomplish their goals and make strides in their recovery from mental illness.

As a scientist at DNA Software, I am responsible for executing and leading research efforts on computational structural biology projects. DNA Software, in collaboration with Prof. John SantaLucia’s laboratory at Wayne State University, has been developing software for the homology modeling of RNA and RNA-protein complexes, NA-CAD (Nucleic Acid Computer Aided Design). I am involved in researching and initiating new projects with the goal of extending our current computational technologies and eventually, developing a complete suite of tools for RNA drug discovery.

KHC does strategic and operational planning for hospitals, on both the business and facilities side. KHC helps clients define their vision, outline performance criteria, establish targets, and create an action plan for improved operational performance. At the strategic level, we work with organization leadership to evaluate the alignment of the entire organization, identify opportunities to balance the operational model and discuss strategies that drive brand positioning – community perceptions, physician attraction, and staff recruitment and retention. At a department or service level, we help clinical leadership identify ‘gaps’ within their current operations that impact efficiency, satisfaction, and financial performance. Our exploration and solutions are based on current best practices within the industry - and beyond, where appropriate - and are balanced to address our clients’ unique culture, context and community expectations.

I design, develop, implement and evaluate training programs to support learning infrastructure in order to produce optimum compliance and operation efficiency. I coordinate and implement training programs, including the planning, scheduling, logistics and preparation of all related courses with extensive interaction with all departments.

I am responsible for managing the administrative operations for the Divisions of Pediatric Nephrology and Neurology, and the Pediatric Dialysis Unit at Mott Children's Hospital.  I supervise all administrative staff and handle any operational issues that need to be addressed related to human resources, budgeting, capital purchases, data collection and reporting and regulatory compliance, among other responsibilities.

As a marketing assistant, I execute and assist in developing branding, collateral, and marketing programs for the Harvard Drug Group’s six businesses that span over the pharmaceutical, medical, veterinary, and home health industries. I work with a small, growing team, offering my creative background to our common strategies and goals for each business. While pharmaceuticals are a far cry from drafting fiction stories or poetry, one day I’m snapping photos of Vitamin C-250mg bottles, the next I’m brainstorming how Harvard can help the independent pharmacy compete with the big box chains. It’s exciting, it’s new, and, most of all, it’s close to home!

As a founder of Dermanaut, I wear all hats from hiring to sales. One day I might be working with outside investors and the next I'm preparing the company books for tax season. The hectic and exciting life of an entrepreneur sums up my job as the company executive. No two days are ever alike.

As the lead software designer I'm responsible for making sure our application meets all the clinical and regulatory needs of our dermatology customer. To keep up with ever-changing landscape, I've traveled the country attending industry trade shows and meeting with dermatologists to best understand my users. Mocking up new feature designs, tackling technical challenges with the development team, and
constantly refining our application highlight my day-to-day responsibilities as lead designer.

As a Personal Trainer, I work with clients one on one to achieve their health & fitness goals.  As an Administrative Assistant, I deal with day to day office tasks as well as client relations.

As the President and CEO of Thomson Shore, I am in charge of employee satisfaction, overall P&L health and strategic business development for business sustainability.

I manage internal operations of Afia, creating processes and procedures for our staff. I also manage all financial and contracting needs. I am currently managing a large system implementation with a nationally recognized children's assessment tool.

Kennedy Care is a home care provider.  I am responsible for helping to expand the business through various types of media.
