I manage sales and external relationships with behavioral health, public health, and primary care organizations, helping them create IT strategies, implementing electronic health records, personal health records, and health information exchanges.

 I own and operate a Chiropractic Clinic here in Ann Arbor.  I offer safe and natural chiropractic care to families and individuals of all ages.  Patients generally come to me with a musculo-skeletal complaint which is causing them pain.  I work with patients to meet their health goals while educating them on the health benefits of Chiropractic.  Along with Chiropractic adjustments I offer intersegmental traction and a brand new x-ray facility.

I chose to start my business in Ann Arbor because this city “fits” me as a person.  I contemplated returning to Chicago and even lived there briefly before moving to Ann Arbor.  I just never felt at home, everywhere I went, every office space I looked at didn’t feel right.  I love Ann Arbor and its pace of life.  The community as a whole is very health conscious as well which is a great fit for my industry.  Ever since graduating from U of M I always thought it would be great to be able to live and work in Ann Arbor.  As a student you don’t realize what the city has to offer beyond the borders of campus.  As a professional I am excited to be able to live and work in such an amazing town.

Afia Inc. is an IT services firm with a relentless focus on healthcare. I work with clients to turn ideas into real-world healthcare IT tools.  I am responsible for the entire life cycle of a project including gathering requirements, working on the design,  and performing training to ensure adoption of system changes.  I work with primary health care, community mental health, and other health providers to find ways to improve patient care.  Our projects range from designing electronic records, to data warehousing, to IT assessments with road maps for improvement.  Afia's mission is to partner with healthcare providers to implement tools, techniques, and strategies that will dramatically improve patient outcomes.

I provide administrative support for the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients (SRTR) project.  My responsibilities include assisting with research project coordination, reports, and scheduling and planning of internal and external meetings that support the ongoing evaluation of the scientific and clinical status of solid organ transplantation.  A major component of this work is responding to various inquiries from all members of the organ transplantation community - patients, family members, researchers, transplant center personnel, the government and the public - for assistance with the SRTR analytical reports, data analysis, and to obtain research materials.

I work to enhance the lives of people who have mental illness and live in adult foster homes by helping them achieve greater independence, connecting them with needed resources they might be eligible for, educating them, and being supportive in their recovery. 

I work on a few different research studies that are testing interventions to increase social support for patients with chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart failure and depression. The interventions (or programs) utilize information technology and self-care management models to help patients better manage the myriad range of things they have to do to stay healthy- being on restricted diets, taking multiple medications, getting proper exercise and being aware of symptoms of concern. The system of using telephone technology and group/individual education sessions allows health care symptoms to monitor and take better care of their patients-keeping them healthier and hopefully, out of the hospital.

I clarify client requirements, business needs and project objectives, via feedback sessions and client meetings, in collaboration with all stakeholders.  I also strategize project scoping and specifications documents, to clearly communicate the project roadmap.  I also take part in team leadership, resource allocation, and scheduling.  In addition, I assign quality assurance to team members to develop test cases, browser requirements, functional analysis of online products, and work with internal and external clients, content producers and stakeholders to conduct interim project reviews and final project tweaks prior to launch.

I conduct health policy research that is focused on issues of aging and the elderly.

I download and anonymize patient CT scans.  I also process them for specific imaging- i.e spine, sternum, pelvis, which basically means i run scripts on them to make sure they'll work for what we need.  After, I measure the bones and all that information gets entered into a database.

I am responsible for strategy, creation and coordination of marketing materials for students, faculty and staff insurance. I coordinate existing marketing efforts and create new initiatives as needs arise, while seeking efficiencies. I maintain a planning calendar and implement plans. I work with vendors to develop and update marketing materials; manage inventory and distribute materials. I coordinate and staff promotional events and I track marking initiatives and measure effectiveness.
