If you could get the clinical diagnosis on an infectious disease in eight hours or in 45 minutes which would you choose? Pretty much a no-brainer, huh?
HandyLab, Inc. thinks so. And that's been the foundation of their success; innovating their products for efficiency and reliability. With a focus on STD's and plans to diagnose 20 different infectious diseases, this developer of clinical diagnostic products makes analytic kits for hospitals to do rapid testing for those diseases.
"We basically miniaturized laboratory testing," said Mark Powelson, vice president of sales and marketing for the company.
HandyLab has approximately 35 employees and plans to nearly triple that number over five years. The U-M spin-off company sees a bright future ahead, employing researchers and engineers as well as staff for sales and marketing.
