Do you hear the Indigo Girls? I hear the Indigo Girls. This is a neighborhood coffeehouse where you can hang out for hours on end worrying about global warming over a cup of joe. Less a scene and more an equal opportunity third space, Bombadill's is conveniently situated next to Ypsi's district library in downtown. Check out Noam Chomsky's latest anti-establishment screed or maybe a little Raymond Carver then flop down onto one of its secondhand couches. Free wi-fi and roomy tables make it the home office you had to rent out to make ends meet. The sandwiches are better than the coffee, the staff is always friendly and downtown Ypsi rolls past the picture windows. Small talk is optional but encouraged. There's a good chance you'll either run into a member of the DDA, an EMU professor or U-M refugee-turned-starving artist. Buy him a scone and you'll make a friend for life.
