A growing Chicago-area IT firm, Sentinel Technologies Inc., is setting up shop in Ann Arbor. In the coming weeks the firm will open up an office in the Ann Arbor Commerce Park with about 10 employees.

A growing Chicago-area IT firm, Sentinel Technologies Inc., is setting up shop in Ann Arbor. In the coming weeks the firm will open up an office in the Ann Arbor Commerce Park with about 10 employees. Sentinel, who specializes in telecommunications, networking, and support, wants their Ann Arbor branch to be its anchor here in lower Michigan.

Excerpt:

Sentinel has annual revenue of about $100 million and has grown about 30 percent in each of the past two years, Osborne said. It was founded in 1982 as a 10-person company that did mainframe service work in Chicago. It now has about 450 workers and sites in Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin and Arizona.

Locally, Sentinel wants to work with the Ann Arbor school district and local municipalities. The site will also try to secure business in Detroit, northern Ohio, and Grand Rapids.
