Natalia Holtzman, Interim Managing Editor
Natalia is based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where she grew up. She started writing for Concentrate in 2023 and has also written for local/regional publications like the Ann Arbor Observer, Hour Detroit, and the Detroit Metro Times, as well as for national publications like the Minneapolis Star Tribune, Bookforum, the Los Angeles Review of Books, and others. In 2025, she won first place for health reporting from the Detroit chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. Natalia graduated from Kalamazoo College in 2010 and earned graduate degrees from the University of Alabama and the University of Michigan.

Doug Coombe, Managing photographer
Doug made the transition from longtime record store employee to photographer when he started to document the Detroit music scene in the early ’90s. He started his photojournalism career with Orbit magazine and moved to the Metro Times in 1999. Doug has photographed for Rolling Stone, SPIN, Mojo, The Wire, Billboard, Wax Poetics, and NME. Doug started photographing for Concentrate in 2010 and also is a regular contributor to its sister publications Metromode and Model D.
Doug studied photography at Washtenaw Community College after he got his degree in psychology from the University of Michigan. He lives in Ann Arbor. He is currently working on a photo book of his Detroit music photography. In addition to photography Doug has other expensive habits like buying old soul and jazz albums, vintage guitars and Criterion films. Check out his website or Instagram for more of his work.
