Reactor Zero not just playing games. Creating jobs.

Reactor Zero is far from starting from scratch when it comes to creating video games. The Ann Arbor firm already has some of the industry’s top talent and is looking to hire more this year by hiring as many as 10 people.

It’s not all fun and games at Reactor Zero even though its office is where fun video games are made.

The eight person firm employs eight video game development specialists, including people who have helped create hit games like The Sims. It hired four people within the last year and hopes to hire three more this summer. Six to 10 programming and artist hires could happen within the next year if the right projects line up.

That’s come a long way since Matt Toschlog, Jeff Flutter and Mitch Rohde founded the company three years ago. Each had experience creating video games and even started developing one for Sony; which wasn’t picked up, unfortunately. The firm is still shopping it around.

But Reactor Zero is still finding work, doubling in size each year and developing plans to spread its wings and diversify its work portfolio.

“We really want to pursue both commercial games and the serious games and simulators,” Toschlog says.
