Web comedy pilot ‘The Venue’ is set (but not shot) in Ann Arbor
Ann Arbor may be the setting, but it’s clearly not where The Venue was shot. Still, with a joke about local toastmasters, you know someone’s got the inside scoop on Tree Town. Vimeo has a web series pilot for this comedy, which follows two friends who live the dream of taking over A2’s legendary rock concert hall, The Whistling Pig, only to find out how hard it is to keep business going. It’s from the same folks who created NBC’s Sports Action Team, and surprisingly funny. Episodes were supposed to feature up and coming bands. Watch the 10-minute pilot here.
