EMU to open planetarium in new $90M science complex

Eastern Michigan University’s new science complex will have students, and the community, seeing stars. The university’s Dept of Physics & Astronomy will soon be adding a new planetarium at the north end of the complex. The sphere-shaped room will also function as a classroom.Sporting a 28-foot dome with 37 reclining seats and 360-degree projection, the room is made to simulate the night sky.So far $55,000 has been raised to purchase the planetarium projector; another $45,000 is needed for the planetarium shows, lighting and audio system.
