HookLogic to leverage $9.5M VC investment into 35 jobs
HookLogic, a New York City-based software start-up, recently received a $9.5 million capital infusion from Bain Capital Ventures of Massachusetts, money that will go a long ways toward growing HookLogic's Ann Arbor office. HookLogic creates web-based software for a variety of industries. It deals mostly with delivery, management and measurement of customer incentives and promotional messaging for companies. It has hired 15 people over the last year, with half of its 60-person workforce in Ann Arbor. The software start-up plans to hire another 35 people, mostly in Ann Arbor, over the next several months thanks to Bain Capital Ventures' investment. "Ann Arbor is where we have most of our software developers and our production team and our automotive team," says Jonathan Opdyke, CEO of HookLogic. Despite having its headquarters in New York City, the firm has a long history with Ann Arbor. Opdyke received both his bachelors and masters degrees from the University of Michigan.
