Insomnia Cookies serves moonlight munchies in Ann Arbor

Cookie dreams don't need to go unfulfilled, as long as you can stay awake. Right in time for the exam crunch,  Insomnia Cookies, a chain of shops located primarily in college towns around the country, has opened a storefront in the former Yogo Bliss space at 1229 S. University, just off U-M's campus in Ann Arbor. This is the cookie purveyor's second incarnation in Ann Arbor; it formerly operated from a food truck parked near campus. The store will employ 16 people, have seating for 10, and serve fresh cookies, brownies, and ice cream. The Chocolate Chunk and S'mores Deluxe flavors are especially popular, says Renee Sarnecky, marketing manager for New York-based Serve U Brands, parent company of Insomnia Cookies. "We always serve them warm. They're always in a warmer, so they're always like they're right out of the oven." True to its name, the store will deliver goodies and be open until 3 a.m. seven days a week. Source:  Renee Sarnecky, marketing manager, Serve U Brands Writer: Tanya Muzumdar
