Parametric Technology moves to facilitate expansion

Parametric Technology has found greener pastures for its Ann Arbor office (formerly Arbortext) but not too far from Tree Town. The software development firm is moving to new offices in Pittsfield Township just outside of Ann Arbor to help facilitate more growth and adding more jobs in the years ahead.

Sometimes one needs to move out to grow up. Words that hold true for young people can also hold true for older companies.

Parametric Technology’s Ann Arbor office, formerly Arbortext, is moving to Pittsfield Township to find a better work environment and room to expand. The 75-person office expects to add a handful of positions within the next year to a more worker-friendly office.

“The layout is much more conducive to collaboration on projects,” says Mike Myher, a spokesman for Parametric Technology.

For Parametric Technology, old is the office where it was Arbortext on the city’s south side. New is the office space in the Valley Ranch Business Park it plans to move in to. The new office has about 20,000 square feet and yet more room to grow beyond that.

“We’re expecting a little bit of growth,” Myher says.

Parametric Technology is a Massachusetts-based software development firm that employs 4,700 people around the world. It has been steadily expanding since its founding in 1985, acquiring 15 companies including Arbortext in 2005.
