Ann Arbor software firm Janeeva looks to create half a dozen jobs

Janeeva is looking to outsource some software work but bring the jobs necessary to do that to Michigan. The firm has plans to hire up to six people this year.

Four years and 12 employees ago, Vinay Gupta started a software company called Janeeva in Ann Arbor. But the real growth has come within the last year when the company added six jobs, a feat he hopes to replicate this year.

“We’ve doubled our revenue almost every year since out inception,” Gupta says.

And he’s done so mostly with clients from both coasts. Janeeva specializes in outsourcing software for these larger companies, but it’s not the sort of outsourcing that makes Michiganders cringe. Instead, the company creates all its software locally, helping its clients manage their outsourced operations using web-based software. It does this for a wide variety of companies, such as large financial firms on the East Coast.

Janeeva hopes to expand business in its own backyard and throughout the Midwest. It also plans to increase its offerings be creating more customized solutions.
