The Banks of Saline gets $1 million to clean-up local brownfield
The Banks of Saline project is moving forward, receiving $1 million in state money to clean up a brownfield site and gearing up to start construction this fall.
The Banks of Saline project maybe in a holding pattern for right now, but the development is preparing to take off later this year.
Developer Tom Foley recently received a $1 million from the state’s Clean Michigan Initiative to clean up the old factory site its one. Foley will meet with officials from Johnson Controls, who used to own the land, later this month. Foley hopes to start construction later this fall and finish the project within three years.
“It’s a pretty nice site,” Foley says. “We’re just waiting for some of our stuff to happen so we can move forward.”

Each building will be built above an underground garage, so each unit will have access to an underground space and one more space outside. Residents will also have an option of purchasing an extra parking space if necessary.
