Michigan Growth Capital Symposium draws investment seekers

Plenty of people are looking for investment opportunities in southeast Michigan, and the recent Michigan Growth Capital Symposium in Ypsilanti was the place to find it last week.

It may seem like southeast Michigan has a long way to go at times to transform and diversify its economy but some say the region is well poised to pull in investment in areas like research and alternative energy.

A crowd from the area business community packed into an Ypsilanti ballroom Thursday to learn more from West Coast venture capitalist Kenneth Pelowski about getting that ever important ingredient – money.

 

What they got from the University of Michigan alum was a perspective on why the state is in a good position to pull investment dollars because of its research and talent in health care and alternative energy.
