Ann Arbor’s new Broadway Park West is coming alive this summer with its first public programming, featuring free Pilates and yoga classes for residents of all ages and experience levels.

Located at 841 Broadway St., just behind the Ann Arbor Amtrak station, Broadway Park West represents the nonprofit Lower Town Riverfront Conservancy’s first major initiative. From now through Aug. 29, Pilates classes will be held on Saturdays from 8-9 a.m., while outdoor yoga sessions will take place on select Sundays from 9-10 a.m. All the classes are free.

The new park provides a space where neighbors can connect, create new experiences, and enjoy Ann Arbor’s newest riverfront destination.

“We envisioned Broadway Park West as more than a destination,” says Alex Milshteyn, president of the Lower Town Riverfront Conservancy. “It is a place where people can come together, enjoy the outdoors, and create lasting connections.”

Milshteyn wants the community to know that a great deal of thought, focus, and intention went into creating this space. The park sits on land owned by the conservancy, helping ensure long-term community access to the riverfront and creating new opportunities for residents to gather and engage outdoors. Milshteyn says more programming is in the works.

“This is just the beginning, but there are ideas of hosting concerts in the park,” he says, noting that a park pavilion with a 40’ x 60’ stage will break ground within 18 months.

Other future plans include concerts, weddings, and community events. Plans for fall events are already underway, including a Bubble Fest for families. For more information and updates, visit the conservancy’s website.
