NIGHT & DAY: It’s a busy week!

Richard Retyi says, forget Mother’s Day, there are monster robots and famous authors to meet. FilterD’s guest editor grabs you by the shoulders and points you toward the best of the best in this week’s events.

This week you have a chance to eat Syrian food with Dave Eggers, go to a Goth Prom and watch a puppet interview a professional wrestling coach. Buy your tickets this second for Thursday’s Storymakers Dinner, a benefit for 826michigan at Zingerman’s Roadhouse featuring author Dave Eggers.

On Friday, head to the Dreamland Theater in Ypsi for the puppet talk show Dreamland Tonight, then rest up, dust off that formal PVC and head to Goth Prom at Necto on Monday to relive a slightly darker version of your youth. There are also two great movies to catch this week and Pete Seeger’s 90th birthday will be celebrated in folkie style at the Ark.

It’s such a busy week that Mother’s Day, Cinco de Mayo and the Michigan Physics Olympiad didn’t even make the list!

If you have upcoming events that you’d like covered, email me at richretyi@gmail.com. You can also read more of my musings at Don’t Take Christopher Walken Boating.

For consideration in FilterD, please send information to jeff@concentratemedia.com a week before your event include high res jpg images that are at least 500 pixels wide.
