Video Inspiration. Locomotion.

Pardon me boy, is that the ArtTrain? For 38 years Ann Arbor’s museum on rails has brought fine art to communities across the nation. Actually, 845 of ’em (that’s 3.2 million people). And now they’re branching out. ArtTruck anyone?

Conceptualized by arts activists back in 1971, ArtTrain was concieved with the mission that art should be available to everyone everywhere.

This idea inspired the Michigan Council for the Arts (MCA) to create ArtTrain USA in Ann Arbor. Its goal was toi bring both art and arts education to rural and low income communities across ythe state. Cool idea, huh? True dat. Before long, art collections and educators were hitting the rails to cities and towns all across the nation.
